Finala probei de dublu la WTA Premier 5 “Western & Southern Open“ s-a disputat între echipe care nu aveau niciun titlu câştigat împreună – deşi componentele ambelor echipe au fost de multe ori campioane – şi s-a încheiat cu rezultatul:
Lucie Hradecká (Cehia, 21 WTA la dublu) / Andreja Klepac (Slovenia, 30) [8] – Anna-Lena Grönefeld (Germania, 17) / Demi Schuurs (Olanda, 8) [5] 6-4, 6-1 în 59′
Campioanele nu au pierdut niciun set în cele 4 partide jucate în această săptămână, pe a 5-a au câştigat-o în sferturi, în urma retragerii din turneu a favoritelor principale, Su-Wei Hsieh / Barbora Strycova.
Două dintre finaliste au fost adversare şi anul trecut, în ultimul act, aici: Lucie Hradecká devenea campioană alături de Ekaterina Makarova, iar Demi Schuurs pierdea, în echipă cu Elise Mertens. Lucie Hradecká mai câştigase turneul de la Cincinnati în 2012 (/ Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková).
